Support for Haskell in progress

I've set my environment and I am just ready to start experimenting with Haskell. I am also looking forward to support MinGW and QT -- can't wait! :) The original SkyIDE was supposed to support MinGW as it was requested. By the way, so that you know, I've done some QT programming with KDevelop back in the days of KDE 1.1. All I remember atm is "signals and slots", "KApplication", "QApplication" and a "Run" loop but yesterday I took like 10 seconds to look at the QT tutorial and I felt quite excited. Everything started coming back to me. So, don't be surprised if you see a QT port of SkyIDE ...

MinGW and QT support

I intend to add support for MinGW and QT. This will happen in the very near future right after I add Haskell support. I hope Haskell will be supported by Alpha 4.

SkyIDE 2.0 Alpha 3b Released

I just released another build. I had a silly error in the Project Options dialog associated with the Compilation Type combo box. It was always being set to "Separate" regardless what you did.

SkyIDE 2.0 Alpha 3 Released

Bugfix: File Structure Issues; Bugfix: Start-up performance issues when starting up with open files in the background; Bugfix: Other performance issues when activating a file; Bugfix: It was impossible to include directories with "One Command String" (Project Dialog); Improvement: Improved the appearance of the "Preferences" dialog; Improvement: Got rid of the standard toolbars and implemented a ribbon-like bar and moved the close button next to the tabs. Download from: here.

Added a Close button next to tab

I've added a close button next to active tab. Screenshot: here.. The "Add New Project File" will also be redesigned but not for Alpha 3. (May be I will make it for Alpha 3 but no guarantees)

Preferences Dialog GUI Improvements

I have made some GUI improvements with the Preferences dialog. Screenshot here: here.

Conflicting File Structure Issue

Recently it was reported the following issue with the File Structure. "GLOBAL (void)" and "write_JPEG_file (char * filename, int quality)" - Both GLOBAL & write_JPEG_file appears while only write_JPEG_file should appear. I first fixed it the way it was requsted but then I modified it in the way I believe it is supposed to be. How is it supposed to be? Well, none of them should appear and this is because "ISO C++ forbids declaration of `functions' with no type" - (GCC compiler). Since my primary compiler was GCC when I first started this project, I've decided to follow its path and make the "File Structure" does not detect these ...

SkyIDE Updates

I have been testing the new GUI for quite a while now and honestly I really like it. I have also replaced a few dated icons (but not all) and I am trying to solve some of the File Structure issues as reported by Gururaja. While fixing them, I found another issue with it which has already been fixed. Again, the overall start up performance (when you have multiple files open) has greatly improved. I hope you do notice the difference between the upcoming alpha release and the old ones. The upcoming release is not going to be a "test" release but instead another alpha and the reason for this ...

Startup Error Discovered in SkyIDE

I have discovered a serious performance degradation startup bug in SkyIDE and it has been fixed. Looks like the upcoming release will have a lot of changes along with the nicer GUI. You should get a considerably faster startup (when you are restoring your tab session from the previous session).

SkyIDE GUI Updates

I have started doing a revamp of the SkyIDE GUI. Basically the toolbars have been replaced with a ribbon bar and I have also found and fixed a few performance problems. The new (still in progress) UI can be seen here. I hope you like what you see.

A Bug Discovered

At the moment, if you have selected to use "One Command String" to compile your project, adding the directories in the "Command String" tab in the "Project Dialog" is impossible. You should ignore the text that tells you to use $(PRFDIRS). It won't work as it is not a profile. That was a typo. I have added a new variable called $(PROJDIRS) and this will let you add all of your directories in the dialog. While working on that, I also discovered a few more typos related to Java that made including Java class paths and source paths impossible. They have all been fixed now. I really feel bad when I find these ...

Your Help is Needed

I am in search for some good looking, high resolution (FREE) icons for the new ribbon UI that will replace the current toolbars. The current ones SkyIDE Is using are not that good. The problem is, many of the ones I find have a lot of strings attached and confusing licenses. I cannot afford to use copyrighted material on SkyIDE's UI and I cannot afford to spend more money on extra accessories.  I have looked at the Tango project but I am having a bit of trouble but it also makes the app look like a GTK one and when you put those icons on a ribbon bar, it just looks weird. If you ...
